Michel Ruurda Bio
Michel Ruurda Westpac Mgr, Business Sector…
In the financial world I have held several managerial positions. In each I broadened my horizons by reaching beyond the day’s workload to learn the inner workings of other departments. The result is an exceptional comprehension of financial management, managed funds, insurance and the share market.
As a Financial Planner for Westpac Banking I was able to institute a program of client base management which resulted in a 93% customer retention, initial profit of AUD$40 million and ongoing profit of AUD$5.5 million. This result was prefaced by initial analysis of client base list and recommendation of additional customer services.
Michel Ruurda implements recommendations…
It doesn’t happen overnight. In order to be useful and elicit positive change, data needs to be gathered, documented, analysed and stored. As a Westpac business analyst I needed to understand banking priorities not only from the banks point of view but also from that of the customer.
Relationships with stakeholders need to be made, reports proffered and actions explained. Analysis is by nature a slow process but at the end of the day, good results make the effort worthwhile.
Michel Ruurda’s role with Trican-Viking…
Trican is an international pressure pumping company operating on four continents with corporate headquarters in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Trican provides innovative engineering solutions for companies involved in the development of natural gas and oil exploration. At the time of my holding a post as Operations Coordinator, Trican had its eye on Viking Energy, hoping to acquire enough shares through its Australian subsidisry to make its mark on the energy sources of Australia.
Michel Ruurda’s role as Operations Coordinator…
As Operations Coordinator it was my job to conduct detailed business analysis of both companies and report key areas of deficiencies and efficiencies for the purpose of shareholders being able to make informed decisions on whether to hold or sell their stocks. Correct analysis was crucial and I believe I provided the most accurate analysis possible.
